111-1 English Teaching Principles and Practice
111-1 英語教學理論與實作
1. What did you learn from the design of the CALL lesson?
I think the teacher asked us to design the course and teach students in this semester, which taught me a lot. From the beginning of the design course, I think it is difficult at the beginning, because we don't know the level of the students, and we don't know the personality of the students. Therefore, in such an unknown situation, it is necessary to design a good teaching plan, in fact, it is not easy. But through this class, the teacher led us to know many teaching methods in the class, and also let everyone perform teaching demonstrations in the class. I think this approach can really let us understand what the real teaching situation will be like. And after this course design activity, I also learned that the teaching plans we designed should be changed according to the student’s learning situation, and slowly adjusted to find the right way to teach students, because the same teaching method does not suitable for all students. In addition, through such activities, I also experienced the touch of being a teacher, which made me fall in love with teaching again. In addition, in the process of teaching, in addition to teaching skills and knowledge, I think class management is also very important. How to maintain order in the class and how to make every student learn smoothly are very important and cannot be ignored.
2. How did the design of the CALL lesson enrich your professional knowledge? When we do course design, there is no way to plan a perfect course from the beginning. I think it needs to be constantly tried. During this process, I will continue to search for various resources on the Internet, such as teaching demonstrations, or even try to apply mandarin teaching methods to English teaching and do some adjustments. In addition, through the course of this semester, the teacher asked everyone to do a teaching demo in the classroom, which gave me a new view of various teaching methods, and also gave me more ideas when doing course design in the future. In addition, I think it is also very important to make a reflective report after each teaching session. We can record what worthy viewpoints we have encountered in the course, whether good or bad, which will help us in the next course design. We can improve the bad ideas, and we can keep the good parts and continue to the next course design so that our course planning can get better and better.
