This was the second time I offered Escort English at the Foreign Languages Department of National Chung Cheng University. This year, the entire course design was different from the one planned in the first year of my teaching here (spring 2018). We tried things such as working on interpretation skills through recording the practice processes (shadowing, sight translation, and Chinese-English numeric conversion), using Google Translate for post-editing and completing subtitle translation, as well as preparing for campus tour and Bantaoyao escort interpretation trip. The course was challenging but I could tell from the students’ responses that it was a joyful and fruitful experience. They really enjoyed doing all these tasks and activities.
